Diocesan Library

Books for you!

10 minutes (by car) from St. Benedict's Church is the Peterborough Diocesan Theological Library and Resource Centre - housed in Bouverie Court, 6 The Lakes, just off the Bedford Road, Northampton, NN4 7YD.

Well worth a visit... to browse and borrow books.  Instead of sitting in front of your TV or computer screen, come and pick up a good book, turn the pages, ponder, discover, enjoy and be challenged.

What kind of books?

"Theological" can cover everything - for God is found in all of his world.

Yes... Books on the Bible, the Christian faith, how to follow Jesus in the daily round - at work, rest and play.  Books on how to enter the different ways of praying, worship, care of our neighbour and of ourselves and on what do we really believe.

Yes... There is the History of the Church, God at work in the past, present and his call to us for the future.

Yes...  Find him in books on Christian Art, Music, Architecture and local Church History.

Yes...  Find him in Biographies from A to Z.

Yes...  Find him as we encounter other faiths, in science and in psychology.

It's endless!

And it is user friendly - for beginners - for those studying Diocesan Courses - for those doing research and personal study - or for those who just like the chance to read.

And, there's the children's work resources for teachers and Junior Church leaders, and for parents needing help in keeping the faith alive in family life.

Come and seeBrowse and borrow.  It's free, it's good.

Open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm.  Plus, evenings and Saturdays when there is a Diocesan Course on - check for times by calling (01604) 887000.
